Santa Fe World Affairs Forum – 2017 Annual Symposium
“World Order Under Threat: Protectionism, Nationalism, Extremism”
April 24 & 25
Santa Fe Community College, Santa Fe, New Mexico – Jemez Rooms
The hope in the West for a peaceful world order following the collapse of the Soviet Union has now given way to a stark new reality. We are looking at growing fragmentation within both individual states and the global community, while inequality, retrenchment, protectionism, nationalism and ideological extremism are on the rise. With the help of an impressive group of experts in international affairs, domestic security, economic protectionism, populist politics, journalism, information technology and cyber security, the 2017 Symposium will delve into these increasingly destabilizing tendencies and explore solutions to them.
