We met with 8 international female entrepreneurs from Belarus last week for an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) project on “Women in Business”. For this program we met with Shannon Jacques, the Chief Development Officer for the Hispano Chamber of Commerce and Synthia Jaramillo, Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations at United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. We discussed ways in which chambers of commerce support business owners, specifically Latina entrepreneurs. We learned that the majority of Latinos business owners are female, that it will take more than a century for a Latina to make the same amount of income as a white man, and that Hispanic women make less than all the races and genders. We appreciate everything that Synthia and Shannon do for entrepreneurs, especially our Latina and Hispanic women entrepreneurs,
Thank you both so much for participating in this program!
